My New Isuzu Amigo!

I have found a solution to my truck problem! You see, I happen to be a girl that LOVES trucks, but since I am only a poor college student the decent ones are usually out of my price range. I have for the past couple of years driven a standard 1999 Mercury Cougar, which I had bought with a few problems that just never seemed to get fixed. It had a reliable engine, but we had already replaced an alternator (this took two days. we called a part store to see if they had any suggestions. the parts store laughed in our face), the driver's side window didn't work, and neither did the air. Also, if you plugged in the antenna on the CD player, the headlights blew a fuse. Needless to say, lots of issues in this car.

I had thought about someday getting an SUV of some sort instead of a truck, so that I could seat more people, but you can hardly find any SUVs with a standard transmission, which I am not yet ready to give up. Then I found it: a 2000 Isuzu Amigo that is a small V6, 4x4, standard, and EVERYTHING works! The mileage is relatively low and most of all, it was cheap with my Cougar trade in. Only cost $1500. So now I have a new vehicle that everything currently works in, so lets hope it isn't junk!

Summer Plans

So summer is almost here, and I have been working out a list of all the tings that need to be done. Number one: horse fence. We currently have too many horses on 5 acres (it is an emergency haven for 2 of the 4 horses because they lost the land they were on), so we have to strictly manage what we do have. The only problem: we have to build all of the fence ourselves, which turns out to be rather expensive right now. However, we currently have one main pasture that is all mud where we feed them hay, a future winter pasture that we need to electrify so they stop walking through the partially finished fence, a late summer pasture that we are borrowing from relatives (the only complete, electrified fence we have, if the charger works), and half of our yard, which is very temporary at the moment.

I currently live with my fiance, and this is the first house either of us have ever had, so I have a feeling that this is going to be quite an adventure. We have four horses on 5 acres to try to manage, a cute house that was built personally by my fiance's grandfather that needs slight repair and remodeling, and about a million other things that are going on at the same time. I will be posting updates thi summer of all of our first time adventures, so stay tuned!

A Comment on Leatherburning...

So burning leather with a wood burner turned out a little differently than I thought....
It works out really well on tooling leather, so I am definitely going to continue using it on some of these items; it is just like sketching! However, it does not work well on finished leather (I'm sure some people could have told me this already) unless it is a very light color. So my new idea: painting.

I tested this out on a couple of purses that I had in stock, and it turned out better than I expected! I just used acrylic paints and then sealed it with a general sealer that can be used for fabrics. Below are the pictures of what I have done so far. I think this is worth looking into!

I Have Discovered Etsy.com

So my sister sent me a link to this website, Etsy.com. Turns out this site sells everything handmade, vintage, or supplies for crafters! It is amazing! I decide to focus my store here, because I love the environment. There are so many original and beautiful items to find here, and they all seem to network really well. So everyone should go check it out, it is a great place to find original items!
